Moving a massive Rhodo

Bradley bought a new truck and helped move this massive rhododendron from a friends house to ours.

It was enormous and Quentin wasn't happy or convinced that it was worth moving.

But after much labor the boys got it into place and I'm so thrilled, it's beautiful and creates a great focal point in the yard..... Plus Quentin now agrees it was worth the effort.

Megan's Party in Kits

It was a party and I wore the best shoes ever!

A theme of the party was Australia so I was kissed by a blow up kangaroo?????

More cute kissing!

Hadley found the Keg, this picture is for Chris considering she told him earlier in the night that she hated Keg parties and would never go to one.

The party was nice big frat party downstairs, but somehow a bunch of us ended up on this couch on the highest level upstairs just chatting it up.

All the lettuce in this salad is from my garden! I'm growing 5 different types but here I used a green leafy lettuce, red leafy lettuce and a baby romain lettuce. It was wonderful the lettuce was so fresh it even tasted kinda sweet.

I found this on the front of a card at my Mom's office. It makes me wonder about the things I worry about.

Mayne Island in May

Landscapes

The Crew

Seafood Buffet

Saturday Chris caught crabs, and dug for clams and oysters. I actually brought 3 salmons and 4 bags of prawns but everyone was so stuffed on the seafood Chris caught the salmon was barely touch. It was the best meal I've had in a while, everyone was walking around the barbecue with their sunburns eating as may oysters as possible raw and cooked, with lots of butter and garlic.

Peter was the gourmet sous-chef. He made a salad with wild greens, procioto, goat cheese, and then fresh peaches warmed in a pan with balsamic vinegar and oil. He also made an incredible pasta on Saturday night with fresh thyme, sage, ground beef, and penne pasta. Then Sunday morning a goat cheese and mushroom omelet. We ate like kings this weekend.

Clematis on my front porch!

I bought this plant 2 years ago and I thought it had died, but I transfered it to a new shadier place and all of a sudden it's taken off.

So so funny!

Tonight Shayna and I had dinner and then went back to her parents house and watched this movie in the parents media room in the basement. It was such a perfect girls night for lots of reasons. We had so much to catch up on, and I love girl visits like that. You know it's been awhile since you've caught up when you take turns at dinner eating so the other can talk. :)
After we were so full and being on the same big comfortable couches that we used to sit on when we were going to school. We used to watch the most girlie movies, ones that certain husbands could never endure, but I guess now that I'm married I just appreciate this girl time even more.
My original pick of a movie was Ghost, (Quentin would be so happy to learn that I watch the movie with Shayna instead of him) but Shayna's parents didn't have it so we watched Just friends on the satellite movie service thing.
It was so funny that I feel off the really comfortable couch because I was laughing so hard. It was hilarious on so many different levels. It made fun of Breton/Jessica Simpson I loved the popstar character. I want to watch the movie again just to appreciate all her lines one more time. I wish I could pick one scene were I liked her the best but it's so hard to choose. I loved how the brothers called each other homos and beat the crap out of each other, I want to replay those scenes as well. I loved the battle of the sensitive nerds, and the scene that made me fall off the couch was when the main character was in one of those ambulance brace things and then well you'll see. Actually the humor was really awkward humor and half the time I was laughing and not looking at the screen because I felt so uncomfortable for the characters. Regardless I'm really looking forward to watching this again. This is the best type of movie to watch when you're either really hung over on a Saturday afternoon and you can't move, or when you're trying to make something in the kitchen and you want to be able to not pay attention for awhile and not miss anything.
Anyways I highly recommend it, I was very surprised.

p.s. One of the first songs they used was by Lemon Heads, I think it was called, " into your arms". I actually bought the latest Lemon Head album when I was about 17 for that song. It was really sweet, I'll be singing for a few days now I'm sure.

I love how warm it is.

Today and yesterday is one of the first days were I feel like it's so warm it's summer. Last night I changed all the bedding in the house to lighter summer blankets and I was outside at like 8pm with just shorts and a t-shirt watering the front lawn. All my neighbors seem to be out in their front yard doing similar things and it I just love seeing everyone. Anyways here's to summer I can't wait for all the fun things we can do.

ps. Chris Puleo please buy that boat!

Smoking a Turkey Backyard Party!

For some reason we were really surprised when checking on the turkey.

It was a really dark brown.

Hadley came over and we spent the whole afternoon cooking, which I think is just as much fun as the party.

Hadley made three batches of scalloped potatoes on the barbecue with lots of garlic, chives, and butter and then melted cheddar cheese on top, very yummy.

Here's the buffet, we even had salmon which I cooked with garlic, soy, chives, honey, jalapeno peppers and cayenne, Asian spicy.

A random picture of Naomi with Muffin in the sun. Naomi lives just a few blocks away which is great!

Here's the gun show or the boys showing how manly they can make croquet.

This is a classic Puleo, haaaaaaaaaaaaaaa look. It's pretty much one of the most annoying sounds that can be made especially when it's yelled right in your ear. However ever party needs it's muse and it just makes it more fun.

This is the classic annoyed response to the haaaaaaaaaaaa noise which Jon has perfected better than anyone.

Ummm it scares me when I see my brother looking evil like this, what's he doing?

After dinner everyone especially the boys became fascinated with this game we have of trying to bounce the ball as hard as you can so it goes over the banister for the upstairs level. It's such simple game but they were all loving it for the longest time.

Here is the cutest picture with Cassandra playing.

Here's a total poser picture of Hadley, her back looks fantastic.

This picture is so funny it cracks me up, us girls were being silly and trying to get each other to pose and some how this picture was taken really quickly out of the blue and we were all laughing about it.

Hadley and I after a long day, hope you all enjoy the pictures.
