Ballet

Tonight we had a really good ballet class, I would like to report. The school called us and asked us how we thought the class was progressing and I told them I thought it was going a bit slow and wanted more stretching. So Voila the results were in and Miss Jenny told me we would be doing Tantric stretching at the end of class.
So we did our plies, batmons and portabras, these are all names I will forget tomorrow. Miss Jenny who is about my age and looks like she could be one of my friends stopped the class as we did our first exercise to inform us that she had shown us this exercise on 8 different occasions and that it was time we remember. She actually got stern with us, but I loved it because it pushed us to the next level. After that we did about 6 different exercises at the bar and usually we only do about 4. These exercises are only about 40 seconds long, but you really have to focus when she's demonstrating or you'll forget were your arms and feet go on each count. So ballet is basically us counting to 8. "1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 " sometimes we count to 12.
We finished our bar exercises and then moved out onto the floor, tonight we did some arm exercises and then some funny leapy things. It loved it, so much fun, the exercise was called pataja, I'm sure I didn't spell that correctly.
After we were instructed to form groups of 2's for the Tantric stretching. Jenny partnered with me and honestly it was the best type of stretching I've ever done, I'm so incredibly impressed with this technique I had no idea I could increase my flexibility so quickly.
So what you do is have someone hold one leg at a time while your slightly leaning with your back completely to the bar. You have to careful to keep your hips square so your properly supported by the leg your standing on. So then you take the leg that your not standing on and face it straight ahead and you start at about a 40 degree angle. Your partner (Jenny) then tells you to push down for 20 seconds. So you push push 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14, 15, 16,17,18,19,20. Then she tell you to relax and she pulls the leg up to 90 degrees. Then you push again till 20. Then you go to about 100 degrees or somewhere above the shoulder if the person helping you is 5,4. Once again you push till 20 and then relax. The last step is the best, after you've relaxed she keeps holding your leg up high and then you flex and try to hold it as she lets go.
On my left leg I could stay at about 110 degrees for a split second on my right only about at about 90 degrees. My left side is definalty stronger and more dominant.
Anyways I learned something new tonight and I'll be definitely trying it again.

THE OZONE

OZONE
An unstable, poisonous allotrope of oxygen, O3, that is formed naturally in the ozone layer from atmospheric oxygen by electric discharge or exposure to ultraviolet radiation, also produced in the lower atmosphere by the photochemical reaction of certain pollutants. It is a highly reactive oxidizing agent used to deodorize air, purify water, and treat industrial wastes.


Well well well it's been a long time since I've set foot in that place. I honestly felt my time was up and I'd never go back. Butttttt after the girls and I had a few drinks at Earls and our men decided to take off cause they were bored, the club 10 blocks away seemed like something to do.
It was super fun for me, I wasn't dressed up at all, but the girls were like it doesn't matter it's the Ozone. They were right it didn't matter at all. It was great, I was walking around that place and all these memories kept coming back at me. I have so many memories from that darn building, so many outfits that I wore, and other things.
That dance floor is the most comfortable dance floor for me, it's the place I learned all my moves and realized that dancing with your girlfriends is ten times better than dancing alone with any guy. The males are mostly just the audience, it works well, everyone is happy with this arrangement.
The highlight was up on stage, I saw Jo and Kim get up there and I just had to go, I mean their is just something about the Ozone and dancing on those silly little corner stages. You can be as silly and sexy as you want.
Anyways I just wanted to note that I still love that place even if I can't really go there anymore and last night will be the expection to the rule. I did have too much to drink, but only because the bar tender gave us a few creamy yummy shots that sort of tasted like Amerreto.... And when we ordered coolers light for some reason we all had 2 at once. That was funny ordering 10 bottles at once.
Oh and I also want to say that when the lights turn on, the party just moves out into the parking lot, then it's time to play go seek were the hell your friends went off to . Kate were did you go!!!!! There was just a huge maze of people outfront and at one point I found Jolene sitting in the drivers seat of some hot red car, the one with the circular engine and stripped seats.
Okay here comes the food part, Burger King makes the best burgers in the world and last night I had poutine which was also incredible. I will be ordering that again.
When I grow up and have kids and all that I think I'm going to really miss going out with my girlfriends, walking around clubs in circles and eating big fat burgers at the end of the night. That was so much fun.
Hey but Ellen I like how she always dances around and she's 47.
Okay enough for right now, Quentin wants to go look at hot tubs.

I did get my second whopper with cheese this weekend, but that wasn't enough I wanted the poutine too.

Poutine is like eating a bunch of carbs smothered with salty gravy and cheese, I had no idea how good it was until I had a whole serving to myself. Anyways those were my treats for the weekend. I'll be good this week I promise.

Stress

I ate at Wendy's today I had fries, they tasted so good. Right now I really need a day off it's been a crazy 10 days since my Mom's been gone and I really need a weekend just to chill out. This job is great but things that are just so easy for my Mom take me major brain power, I just don't know how to handle everything yet. Anyways the stress has been good for my diet I haven't had time to sit around and eat.

Friday

K I'm so busy and this morning is the only down time that I can really sneak in. I really should be heading to the shower and then doing my hair. I like my hair being longer but the downside is it takes more work to do. When I have shorter hair I can sometimes get away without blowdrying, but now that it's longer I can forget that. So I have to decide what to wear today, none of my work pants are really fitting right anymore and to tell you the truth that bugs me because it's a pain to go buy new stuff. Shopping takes a lot of work, and I really don't have time for it. I'm glad that spring is sort of around the cornor, even though it's still January, cause then I can wear skirts which have more elastic in them and fit better.
Okay so I guess I need to go do my hair, and then I have to write an offer for these people. Oh I showed the coolest house last night in Cloverdale. I was one of those houses and it only happens to my once in a blue moon were everthing is totally renovated and it shows perfect. For some reason when I walk into these types of homes I just know I'm going to be writing an offer. The colors were fantastic, the kitchen had been totally redone with a beautiful island and sort of stoney counter tops. But what made this house extra special was the reclaimed hardwood floors throughout the whole top floor. Plus in the main bathroom, they redid the bathroom countertops with the reclaimed wood floors and added the coolest sink in the world. One of those that sits on top like a basin. I was very impressed, and got pretty excited.

Annoyances - Food Moochers

Okay I don't want to complainer but this one is just too much for me.

Okay I don't know if you've ever ran into this type of person, well I had a friend in high school and everytime I went to the cafe at recess and bought one of those really good pizza buns she always insisted on having some. Now I don't mind letting someone sample what I have or maybe I'll just give it up all together, but when I really enjoy something and they consistently want what I have I get very aggravated. With this person she would always beg so basically I started to avoid her at recess. Or if I saw her coming down the hall when I had my snack my whole body would tense up and I would be trying to figure out a way to get away from her with without causing more of an upset or losing some of my snack.

This was my first experience with a Moocher and I decided that they suck. Don't get me wrong I don't mind sharing but in order to share you need to be asked without the burden of a huge guilt trip if you don't comply.

That said I like my own cup of coffee in the morning ,I don't like anyone touching it. If you want to see if the coffee is any good, go ahead and take a sip, but don't just claim my cup as your own. Saying you"ll get me more almost aggravates me even more, I like to know how much I've had.

So if anyone out there is doing this, please stop, being a mooch is probably the most annoying thing in the world and just writing about it makes me feel tense..

I really want to have a nap right now but I'm scared if I shut my eyes I'll become to lazy and I won't finish all the work I have to do. With my Mom gone it's just insane I don't know how she does it.

Paper Article, about Teen Idols

So today's article in the paper that caught my eye was the one about idol worship and how it sets a dangerous trend. The opening line was, "Parents should know that a girls' level of celebrity worship is an indicator of how materialistic she is, what kinds of activities she's involved in and how experienced she is with boys, according to a study in the latest issue of the Journal of Adolescent research. " They said they found a correlation between a girls participation in male pop idol worship and her personality and interests.
Now right away my mind goes back to when myself and all my friends did this, it was grade 5 or 6, I can't remember. I remember being totally in love with oh what's his name the young guy from the New Kids on the Block. (Someone remind me) K I don't even remember his name although at some point I looked at his picture and promised that I was going to marry him one day. Why I would say I wanted to marry someone I would never even meet, well that seems silly.
With the positive correlation between level of idol worship and experience with boys, that seems ridiculous. The whole reason myself and my girlfriends were so fascinated with these idols is that we were too young and immature to speak with real boys. In fact I would think my obsessing was never as intense as my girlfriends who had no brothers in the family. I think when you have dirty stinky brothers it sort of takes away from the whole idol thing. Something just clicks and you know it can't all be true.
I do think that the level of celebrity worship can be an indicator of how materialistic a girl is going to be.
So moral of the story, if I have a little girl and she's becomes fascinated by whatever newest media guy is available, I will promptly invite some nice friendly neighborhood family over for a barbecue with some cute boys, in some subdue fashion, so that she can see how real boys behave. And I won't let her spend all her allowance on pictures of some guy.

I wasn't that hard, or maybe I'm just used to hard and as long as I'm not throwing up it's managable. I'll never forget when I used to have to do my skating program and in the beginning when you first started to train for a competition you'd sometimes run to the boards and puke after the 3 minutes. You'd be amazed at what 3 minutes can do to a person.

Okay I weighted myself this morning and I'm still hovering at the top end of 135lb. If I can get down to 133lb in the next 2 weeks that would be great. I've pretty much lost all the water by now so it goes a bit slower now.

I had an extremely busy day, but to be honest I have to add my fridge raid.
I bought fresh pineapple so I ate some of that until I got tired of it. 1 point
then I switched from sweet to salt and ate some light feta from the container, mmmm so good. I should have eaten those two in the opposite order but owell not thinking it through makes it so much better. 1 point.
I did ballet so I guess I earned it.

So so tired I got 2 offers accepted today and tomorrow I have to be at the big seminar, then and drive around dropping off paper work. I also have to go to the post office before 9 and then be at a house in Cloverdale at 9 for a showing. Some guy called tonight at 9:30 and wants to list his place. So I'll need to get that ready for tomorrow although I told him I'd see him Wednesday night. It's great being busy, it's fun when my Mom leaves and I get to take care of stuff. :)

I added one light cheese single slices on top. Okay I think that's 10 points but because Kate I know your reading I'm going to say 12.

I know I'm not exact everyday but I think as long as I'm losing I'm doing something right. I'll have to weigh myself tomorrow, sometime.
It's been a week since I've really gone to the gym so tomorrow morning I'm back, I'm trying Cardio Circuit at 8:05am, which probably means I'm going to be running my little heart out and as red as a tomato when I leave. I better go set up the automatic coffee maker.

Jokes to Play on little Brothers

I was doing laundry today and I really wanted to wash my white sweater. I knew Brad was sitting at my computer so I wondered how I was going to get upstairs without exposing myself. I was wearing a beige strapless bra so I stuck my sweater in the wash covered my hands over my chest and walked upstairs. As I turned the corner I told Brad not to look, which of coarse he did. Ha ha he thought he saw me topless which he didn't. Hey What's wrong with me topless. :) p.s this only works on brothers that are squimish, older brothers just ignore you.

Friday

Well I weighed myself today and I'm down to 135lb. I started at 140 so I know I'm doing something right. I think it's mostly just a bunch of water loss but I know how I am and weight does comes off me pretty quick. I really want to see if I can get below the 130 mark, I haven't been their since I was 21 and I didn't make it before my wedding so lets see if I can do it this time. I haven't really gone to the gym this week I'm been so busy. Once I've lost going to the gym will really help to keep it off.

I don't care how many points it was really good.

We both had some sort of honey beer which was very yummy. Expect I was watching the Canadian women figure skating pretty intently and Quentin later informed me that as we were eating he was switching our beers. (His rational: He needed more than me) Thanks sweety, I guess.
After came home and ate the sugar free mint chocolate that I bought, it was very yummy. I'm going to buy a bunch more of that stuff, cause I think it's pretty low in calories.

I was noticing in the paper how Hilary Swank is 5,7 and weighed 110lbs. For the new boxing movie that she's in she put on 2o lbs of muscle in 9 weeks. Since filming the movie she's lost 10 pounds of that muscle. Wow I think it's amazing what you can do with your body and I don't think it really matters if your a star or not. I guess it all depends what you do with your leisure time, we all have it, I have to start running. :)
