Little Brothers again

I went to visit the baby of the family at very first place every, very exciting. I was impressed the level of cleanliness was acceptable and it didn't smell. Here he is doing as he pleases. Why men do this I'll never fully understand, yuck! Posted by Picasa

Mariah Carey

Sharon and I saw our childhood favorite Mariah Carey Saturday night. I have always wanted to see Mariah she is such a childhood favorite. It was a fun show, but unfortunately I didn't get the chills from her performance. I'm not quite sure what it was I suppose I just saw Coldplay in March and they were spectacular, no one does emotion better than Coldplay, so Mariah had a lot to live up too.

Here's little video clips I took from the concert, when Mariah was the center stage I was one row back and it was great to be so close. Unfortunately they had the camera Nazi's with flashlights who would shine light directly at your camera and then nod sternly at you when you held your camera up. I was sneaky though and made sure the buggers weren't looking when I filmed just a few clips, it's not much but at it shows how close we were at least.

Parties and Snacks

I just came home from a party and I want to confess that I ate as much as possible. I drank a lot of red wine and then all the wonderful snacks that were laid out on the granite island top. Salami, cheese, olives, jalapeno peppers, sunchips, cheesies, artichoke dip, carrots, tomatoes, peppered cheese with little crackers. Everyone sat around the various foods eating, talking and drinking various types of red wine and then felt so full that it was necessary to leave go home and pass out in our warm beds before midnight. Hmm that was good... Friday night after a long work week!

Party on a Bus

Happy Birthday Sharon!!

For Sharon's birthday and her sister Rachel and her boyfriend Jake's birthday, a huge party bus was ordered to take us to Roosters, The Standard and the bourbon in Vancouver.

The bus was a ton of fun, here are a few girls hanging out in the beginning of the night.

Here's another picture pre-voyage.

This is the bus the entire time we were on the Hwy, everyone was dancing and swinging on the poles, I didn't realize you could have that much fun driving on Hwy#1. I thought I'd get motion sickness but I was fine and everyone else seemed to be too. That was one of the best nights I've had in a long time!!!

Here's Bradley and I at the back of the bus, Bradley was kind enough to tell the bus driver that I really wanted to dance with him, so at one point at the Standard I had to make a bee line to get out of there as I saw the only man in his 50's wearing a big black leather jacket (it was really hot inside), with glasses and a bald head coming for his dance. Younger brothers grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Oh p.s thanks Cal for not inspiring any ideas in Brad's head......

Thanks Chris for being my date, since a major server meltdown stole mine. Quentin had to work all night and still was at his work when I got into bed at 3:30am, that sucked!!!!

Oh and Bradley tried to tell Quentin that I was making out with all the black guys at the bar. If you don't have a younger brother consider yourself lucky!!!

Here is tough Michelle don't mess with her!! A bigger older lady about in her fifties who likes to hang out at the Bourbon and probably drinks too much pushed Jon to get him out of the way. So Michelle pushed her back and said, "excuse me don't touch my boyfriend". This in tern got Jon mad, which got Chris mad, and Bradley thought it would be cool if a fight started and so I decided the night was over and we we're leaving. Yikes we we're all glad to leave that place in
one piece.

Thanks Cal and Sharon I had so much fun, I love an night adventure on the town!!!

Oh here's a picture from Michelle of me dancing with a real cowboy at Roosters. Okay this guy had me spinning all over the place, I thought I knew how to 2 step but I had no idea!!! I actually spained my ankle abit Saturday night I wonder if all the spinning had something to do with it.

Otterbay Bay Pender Island

We're up on the hill closer to the left

Here's my Dad and I cooking lamb on the barbecue. Cooking lamb is very serious business when it comes to the Katronis family, Dad was actually very impressed with the quality of locally raised lamb and when Dad's happy then everyone is happy :)

The view from the deck, it's great entertainment to watch the ferries come and go all day, you can actually seem them docking.

Hanging out after dinner.

I always love trying to find shapes in the natural landscapes, this shore line was interesting.

Bridges are the best with their rails, makes me think of speed somehow. (Not the drug)

Curvy Shore

Steps but something is missing.

Salt Spring Day Market

According to the Province, visiting Salt Spring day market is one of the top 100 things you should do before you die!

So last Saturday Quentin and I visited, but by mistake!

I'm holding a natural raspberry and yogurt popsicle $1.50.

My parents really wanted us to come visit them at Otterbay Pender Island so to be good kids we woke up nice and early after Candice's party from the night before and caught the 8:30am ferry.
K so I don't like paying attention to the rules and like to think that I know everything, I get this from my Mother, and I failed to pay attention to the overhead announcements on the ferry. Our ferry docked at Mayne Island and I of coarse used to take the ferry to Pender Island as a child every weekend so I just automatically knew that the next stop was ours. Just like when you listen to a certain song on a old album that you know so well and you've memorized the sequence of songs and you know exactly what's next...... Well this time they wanted us to get off at Mayne and then take another ferry to Pender.....
So I sat there and watched all the cars get off at Mayne and went back to reading the book I was totally absorbed in. That was another part of the problem. I even thought to my self, geez I would be soo mad at myself if we didn't get off at the right stop.
When Quentin and I were on our honeymoon in Greece he told us to get off at the wrong island instead of Santorini and I was so mad I decided I shouldn't speak or I'd say something terrible. So that memory went though my head and I ignored it.....
The ferry pulls out I go back to reading my book and after 10 minutes I notice were out in open water. Shit Shit Shit what the hell are we doing here!!!!!
I go running to the gift store and the lady tells me we're heading back to Tsawwassen. I hate it when I realize I screwed up royally and I have to take all the blame for this one because I'm the one who's traveled the gulf island by ferry a million times before.
Argg so it was terrible we found out the ferry was heading back to Tsawwassen then it was going to Salt Spring Island were it would sit for over 2 hours and then finally head to Pender Island at 5pm.
To make the best of the day we rented a stateroom for $7 and then we were able to leave our stuff there while we went to the day market and puttered around for 2 hrs. It actually ended up being fun and staterooms aren't a bad place for a nice hour long nap, you can even use the life jackets as pillows.

The best part of the day was visiting the tie dye underwear stand were I bought myself some cute booty shorts, and I would have liked to buy these for Quentin but something looked a bit off about them despite the great colors.

House

The most favorite TV of Quentin and I right now is House. Every week you get to watch this character called "House" who's a genius, figure out these medical puzzles. He completely saves people but at the same time his personality is intolerable and so egotistical. I want to strangle House but at the same time you can't help loving him.
Anyways last week when I watched the show I got a really serious cry session in (as my Dad likes to call them) right at the end. What other show can produce that? And this week I can't sleep because we watched the show right before bed and the topic was very creepy. This kid was born from invitro fertilization and had a very rare disorder were he had random DNA from his twin brother who lived inside of him, causing him to hallucinate. The show had aliens and abductions and now I can't sleep, I feel like I'm 8....
Hmm I'm starting to feel sleepy again, this is a great show for anyone who loves all that medical talk, Tuesday nights at 8.

Tofino the second time!

Here's the video clips from the second time around. Hadley masters the surfboard and I had to add some cheese music to celebrate the victory! Plus you'll see our campsite a bunch of times because we were super proud of it and kept reorganizing and cleaning it.

Hadley I had another great weekend in Tofino. This time we brought dishes and camping stoves and actually ate all our meals at the site. I even bought a dining tent at Walmart. Us girls were in nesting heaven everything was clean and organized.

Here I am in the truck on our day of determination. We were determined that we would have a great day of surfing and that Hadley would nail the pop up technique and surf to shore.
