Happy Birthday to my Baby Brother
Craigs List
Jon brought this to my attention. Usually you sell stuff on this list but right now people are offering help. The people in New Orleans are going through a very difficult time, and it's inspiring to see others offering help. Read what people are saying.

Today is a slow day for me so I wonder if I should call Jason/Steve and get some extra work for when I'm chatting on msn. Maybe if I just sat in my chair topless that would be enough, heck if I can go topless on a beach then I should be able to do it in the comfort of my own home. Ahhh just kidding, this ad is creepy but if someone actually has the balls to call let me know.
Don't buy Gas on Thursday
I sent out a forward which I hardly ever do, to remind people not to buy Gas on Thursday September 1. Almost immediatey I had 2 different replies that it won't make any difference to the oil companies.
I thought about it and maybe it's true but I still think not buying gas on Thursday is good for awareness. There are all sorts of days out there, Cancer day, Aids day, they don't cure the disease that day but everyone at least spends a little bit more time thinking about the particular problem.
You have to remember that no corporate companies are going to advocate not purchasing on any day so their won't be a big banner on the street next to ESSO saying don't come in today.
So I still say don't buy gas on Thursday and lets just see what happens, it's good for awareness if anything.

40 Yr Old Virgin
Okay this was another really funny movie. I thought wedding crasher was hilarious but then 40ry old virgin had a much more natural sort of humour. In this movie you could actually see yourself being in the same situations as the characters and responding the same way. I thought it was particularly funny because I'm well versed in, 'Your Gay" humor and then for me the ending scene was just great. I think if I had to pick between the 2 movies it would be the 40 yr old Virgin it just seemed less scripted.

I forgot about this picture
On Quentin's birthday we were having dinner at East Beach and my mom and all of us noticed a group of cute teenaged girls walking by. My Mom's a bit crazy and likes to get up a lot so when she saw the girls go into a near by little shop she got up and followed, none of us at the table noticed. 10 minutes later the same girls came back near our table and stopped on the other side of gate from our table. They starting pointing at Quentin and then one of them was like, "are you Judd Law??" I was like, "what no don't be stupid" but Jon and Quentin didn't answer the question and were smirking and not really saying no. So the girls came around into the restaurant and asked for Quentin's autograph. I was very annoyed at this point and even told them to bugger off, which they didn't. Finally Quentin and Jon were like, "no, no Judd Law here but thanks for the compliment." The girls left and for the next 20 minutes Quentin was like, "yup that's right I look like Judd Law want my autograph?" That's when my Mom was like, "actually Quentin I paid those girls 20 bucks to come over here and pretend you were Judd Law" Poor Quentin when he gets really embarrassed the vein on his forehead pops out. But that was one of the best pranks ever and no one ever expected that from my Mom, we were amazed!

My first labtop ever (Lap top sorry)
It's Friday night just got back from False Creek and visiting Sharon and Cal. It's such a nice little area down there so many people, but at some point you have to wonder were do they all come from, lady rollerblading in the dark at 9:30. I love all the activity but at the same time it's so many things, a bit overwhelming for a suburb girl.
Anyways I just got home and Quentin presented me with this cute little labtop and I'm thrilled. I'm currently upstairs sitting in my bedroom cause it's warmer and cozier here. Down stairs is right by the window and for some reason I was too lazy to actually shut it so I just came upstairs.
So now I can actually lie down and type and I'm trying to decide if this is a good thing.
On the one had I don't have to sit at my desk anymore and it's probably way better for my neck not to use the mouse hand so much.... On the other I wonder what is a healthy amount of computer time and do I really need much more. I must admit I rarely watch tv I much prefer to type or read whatever is interesting on line. Mind you it's summer and it's mostly to hot or nice out to sit inside and watch tv.
So for that question what is a healthy amount of computer time? Hmmmm not so simple to answer.
As long as your being productive does that make it healthy? I guess then you have to ask what's productive.
That can be a slippery slop cause can't we all justify any little activity as being productive. Like reading an article on a subject that's interesting but not really benefiting your daily to do list.
What about recreation and relaxation time, surely you cann't be productive at all hours, that's way to exhausting.
Speaking of exhausting I'm finding that lying down is making me really drowsy and I need to take my contacts out and go to sleep. Darn contact so annoying.
Night.

Jupiter and Venus are getting really close
I don't know if I'll ever actually see any of this stuff but it gives me something to look for when sitting in the hot tub. Hmm maybe we should get a hot tub telescope, I think my Dad has a really nice one in the basment that he never got around to assembling (he said it was because we kids would break it.) Anyways I think now that he's gone for a week I might be inspired enough to go rumage through the basment to swipe if for awhile. Hey if it's been down there for 20yrs he's not going to miss it now.

Big knot in my neck
Tonight I'm suffering from a huge knot in my neck that I've had since Thursday this one just won't seem to ease up. I went to the Spa on Saturday and they game a massage and a soak in the hydro tub but that cost $80 and I didn't really feel that much better. I thought that it must have something to do with the lack of support my old chair was providing so I spent another $300 to help improve my posture. Tonight I'm going to try to take a bunch of Robaxin and see what happens in the morning. If that doesn't work I might have to start going back to the gym...... well obviously my body is trying to tell me something, just have to figure out what.
Anyone else know how to get rid of big neck knots?

Sun explosion
Big sunspot 798 exploded twice yesterday, August 22nd, and hurled a pair of coronal mass ejections apparently toward Earth. Geomagnetic storms are possible when the clouds arrive. Sky watchers should be alert for auroras during the nights of August 23rd and 24th. High latitudes are favored: e.g., Canada, Alaska and northern-tier US states from Washington to Maine.
As predicted, a pair of coronal mass ejections (CMEs ) hit Earth's magnetic field this morning, setting off a strong geomagnetic storm--now subsiding. In Yampa, Colorado, physics professor Jimmy Westlake took this picture at 4 a.m. MDT:
"Bright moonlight illuminated the foreground nicely, but definitely cut down on the sky contrast," says Westlake. "Still, it was a colorful and beautiful storm to the unaided eye!"
Although the storm is subsiding, it's not over. If you missed the auroras this morning, you might get another chance to see them tonight. Stay tuned!

I went shopping today
Bought way to much stuff, but hey why work hard if you can't shop hard... once in awhile. I have to say that I'm drained from searching around the mall. I bought stuff for work and then it sort of migrated to causal clothes. My most comfy purchase is defiantly the big black bell pants but they are long down to the floor. I've been seeing lots of girls wearing these so it was time to get a pair myself.
So that was my pre fall shop and I'm going to try really hard not to go near the mall again until October as I'm trying to get my parents to let me join them to NY. I don't care if I have to sleep on the floor in the hotel room, I want to go, that city is the greatest.

Michael Buble at Deer Lake tonight.
{The only picture I took, Michael told he audience, "okay here is your big moment were putting on our blue steel faces take pictures and then after no more flashes please" after people were taking tons of annoying pictures.}
I've been to lots of concerts, but this was one of my favorites. I would say it was comparable to when I saw REM back in high school. The venue was perfect we brought a little blanket and sat on the lawn, you could see the lake and surrounding trees with colored lights everywhere. It wasn't cold or windy the temperature was perfect.
The sound quality was very good, Quentin and I sat facing a big set of speaker and it didn't warp at all, very clear.
Okay here is the gushy part. Michael was so wonderful I feel like he was personally in love with every person in the audience, he gave so much. His act was also extremely funny the guy could be a comedian even Quentin honestly laughed a few times. He would imitate other singers Michael Jackson or Ray Charles, he respected the later considerable more however.
Well Jon is making fun of me because I'm blogging all this but I don't care Michael was so sweet and senstive. Jon you should try to be more like him..... and I'm sure he would never make fun of me for blogging about him.
At the very end of the show Michael is singing "a song for you" and he pulls away the microphone for the last chorus and just belts out the song, and it was so very intimate you feel like it's a personal serenade. I fell in love with him right there, stomach butterfly kind, and I will always go see Michael Buble every time he comes back home to Vancouver to play.
p.s. while I write about my love Quentin and Jon are watching a sword movie in the background and I can hear people getting injured and they're laughing. Sigh I'm so glad I have my Michael.

Interesting Diet Trivia
Celery has negative calories. It takes more calories to eat a piece of celery than the celery has in it to begin with.
Aurora Watch
AURORA WATCH: Earth is about to enter a solar wind stream flowing from a coronal hole on the sun, and the encounter could spark a mild geomagnetic storm. Sky watchers in Alaska and Canada should be alert for auroras on August 16th and 17th.
