Spring is Just Around the Corner

For Friday night we had mini foursome trip to Mayne Island since the whole world cancelled at the last minute. It was a really nice night anyways, sometime less is more and we had such a cozy time. In the middle of the night at 4am we were awakened to scarey wind sounds and by morning the ferries weren't running. Then before leaving the cabin for breakfast we sat in the living room watching airplane fast winds tear through our innocent little Dinner Bay. It was very exciting and Calvin jumped off the couch at one and pointed at one gust, "there that one must be 80 knots" you could see a bit of a cyclone and how it chopped up the waves below it as it passed.
We were lucky and the weather cleared for just long enough for Sharon and I to go for a nice run. I managed to run 6km on very hilly terrain in just about 50 minutes, and it was so refreshing. As I was running I thought to myself I'm going to miss winter! No one ever says that but if you think about it, what other time of year can you go for a jog and never feel too hot in the middle of the day. The island is so beautiful when it's stormy and today the ocean looked very grey but active and sharp while I was running beside it. Their were so many birds playing around about it too, they looked like they were having a dance party up there.

Later Sharon went down to this really neat Japanese Garden that's just around the corner from the cabin and took the pictures above. I'm so surprised that their was actually color down there, that daffodil well it almost looks like fruit to me with it's water droplets and I wish I could eat it, same with the purple flowers. To bad more flowers weren't edible imagine having daffodil salad at the end of winter to remind you that's springs coming. (K I won't talk about eating flowers anymore:) )

After we came home, Quentin and I watch the movie, "In Her Shoes" and it put me in a really sentimental mood. They read this poem and I haven't heard a poem in so long it just took me by surprise and made me tear up in a nice way.
